Principal, Peachtree Elementary School

My name is Patricia Mathews. I have been the principal here at Peachtree Elementary School since 2018. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Asheville and a Masters Degree in School Administration (MSA) from Gardner Webb University.  I began teaching in Haywood County in 1986   I taught Spanish at Murphy High School and Tri-County Early College before becoming principal. 

Peachtree Elementary School is a wonderful school where students receive quality academic instruction in a safe, caring, and respectful environment. Peachtree is a special place because of the terrific people that learn and work here and because of the community in which it is located. 

I enjoy serving the students and families of the Peachtree community. My door is always open to parents, students, staff, and community members who desire to share concerns or ideas to help the school prepare our students to become contributing members of the 21st century.
