Principal, Peachtree Elementary School
Hello, and welcome to Panther country! My name is Carmen Garland and I am the proud new principal of Peachtree Elementary School. I graduated from MHS and have been in education since 1999. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Western Carolina University, a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) from East Tennessee State University, and Master of Education Administration from Western Carolina University. I later received my National Board Certification. I began teaching Kindergarten at Hiwassee Dam Elementary School and then moved to Ranger Elementary/Middle. Later, I moved into the Gifted Lead role for CCS grades K-12. I moved to Whiteville, NC in 2014 for my husband's job where I was an Instructional Coach and Director at Central Services. We then moved to Monticello, Georgia where I worked in Central Office.
I have a wonderful, supportive family whom I love dearly. My husband, Kenny Garland, my sons, Camden and Lucas, and my daughter-in-law, Sarah Kate are the center of my world. As a family, we love education and supporting our community.
Peachtree Elementary School is a wonderful school where students receive quality academic instruction in a safe, caring, and respectful environment. Peachtree is a special place because of the terrific people who learn and work here and because of the community in which it is located.
I have enjoyed serving the students and families of the Peachtree community. My door is always open to parents, students, staff, and community members. I want to thank you for your support of Peachtree Elementary School. Please do not hesitate to call or email with any questions or concerns you may have during the year.
