My name is Cynthia Waldroup and I am excited to be the principal of Peachtree Elementary School. I am delighted to be a part of the Peachtree Elementary School community. Peachtree is a place where strong connections are made between the home and school and where all staff members are committed to developing the whole child. I value both of these characteristics and am excited to help continue moving Peachtree along the path of excellence.
I graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Middle Grades Education, from Lincoln Memorial University in 2003 with a Master of Education in Educational Administration and Supervision, and from University of West Alabama in 2004 with a Master in School Counseling. I am currently working on by Education Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University. Professionally, I have been an active and supportive member of the Cherokee County School District for many years. Over the past 15 years, I have been blessed to gain experience as a teacher, counselor, and assistant principal. Throughout my years in education, I have continued to stay current on best practices for kids and successful schools. In my eyes, one of the most important aspects of my work as Peachtree’s principal is building solid relationships with students, families, and teachers. It will be very important to me to be in the hallways, classrooms, and on the playground getting to know your child(ren).
In addition to building strong relationships with all of you, it will be particularly important to make sure that your child and you feel safe at school. If you ever have a concern about something or a question about a specific situation or procedure please do not hesitate to call or email me. Communication is paramount in a school. For this reason, I will always encourage you to contact your child’s teacher or me with questions.
It is going to be a great school year!
